The debate on Taiwan’s new spelling system -- from the globalization and localization

【発表要旨】

This paper talks about a debate on Taiwan new spelling system. Basically, which kind of spelling system a nation chooses to use should be a mission belongs to linguistics scholars. However, because of the sensitive relationship between Taiwan and Mainland China, and the localization and globalization meaning of the using of spelling system, the mission have been politicalized, and became a problem of Taiwan identity.

In this conference, I will especially focus on the topic about the different kinds of persistence and Taiwan identity shown in this debate, and examine the reason central government chose Tongyong spelling system for the official spelling system in the end.

ホピ銀細工の真贋―判断者と判断基準の多様性―

【発表要旨】

従来の観光人類学では、観光商品を伝統文化との対比において考察してきた。近年、観光商品に注目する人類学者は観光商品の中に模造品・偽造品が流入しているとの報告を寄せているが、伝統文化と観光商品という対比に固執しているため、観光商品を制作する人々を一枚岩的に捉えがちである。ホピの銀細工の場合、制作者がホピであっても、市場および法制上の基準からそれが贋作とされる場合がある。ホピ社会は部族政府機関の権威をめぐり伝統派と近代派に大きく分かれている。両者の作品に形態上の差異は見られないが、法制度上前者の銀細工は真作、後者のものは贋作とされるのである。この真贋判断基準に対して伝統派は独自の判断基準を設け、自分たちの銀細工を正当化している。本論ではホピの銀細工をめぐる真贋判断の判断者と基準の多様性を明らかにし、ある民族が制作した商品が市場で流通する際に生じる、政治・経済・法的な諸問題を「多様な真正性」という視点から考察する。
